Google set to release augmented reality eyeglasses

Google on Wednesday morning unveiled a YouTube video teasing its augmented reality eyeglasses, a pair of spectacles that interacts with what you're seeing and acts as a smartphone, day planner, turn-by-turn navigation system, camera and more. There's no definite timetable for release. Seeing as we are useless with most gadgets, we shall stick to Specsavers thank you. We must say its a really clever idea and gizmo lovers would definitely be making orders as soon as they can.

The glasses run a form of Google's Android operating system that appears to be both voice-controlled and, less familiarly, view-controlled: A bar of small icons floats just above the wearer's line of sight, and by looking upward, the wearer can interact with the icons to view the weather, send text messages, and do much of what a smartphone can do. In addition to smartphone functionality, however, the Google glasses attempt to interact with the world that it sees in front of and around the wearer, "augmenting" or supplementing the reality that the wearer experiences.



The basic look (an unobtrusive, non-clunky white band with a small white display above the right eye.

There is a manhole in front of you lady! Well it is in a town in the US. We do love a good laugh you know. Some of the laws that are passed in a lot of countries are so funny, but some are just plain balmy. Though this makes a lot of sense but its still just funny. It is now an offence to walk while you are texting (or sexting as the case may be) in Fort Lee, New Jersey, for about a month now and already the local police department has issued 117 tickets at $85 per offence after 20 accidents were caused by distracted pedestrians texting and strolling across the road. So if you are ever in Fort Lee, New Jersey and caught walking on the sidewalk and texting (this includes tweeting, BBM and any other form of textings), you will be charged with 'Reckless walking' and a fine of $85.
