'The Past Came Calling' Premieres

When the name Ruke Amata is mentioned, the “Amata Dynasty” immediately comes to mind. Ruke comes from a renowned family of dramatists and film and television practitioners. He exhibits a high level of professionalism, dedication and commitment to any assigned duty. A versatile and upright young man, he founded Class Act UK, a movie talent hunt show which birthed its maiden edition in 2011. Ruke, is one of the producers/directors cum filmmaker currently making waves in the UK at the moment. So we were very excited and delighted when we heard about his new movie "THE PAST CAME CALLING". It is a movie about a young Medical Student (Susan), who came to the UK to study with her ‘sister’, Maggie (Chioma Chukwuka). She never, in her wildest imagination, believed she could ever fall in love with a white man, until she is introduced to a dashing young Guy (Dermot) by her ‘sister’s boyfriend, Kachi (John Dumelo). But the heart is not so smart. They met and began, what became a sizzling romantic relationship, until events of the past came calling.

Mr Ruke Amata

Ruke in a chat with us said  “the movie is actually the end product of our acting talent hunt programme - Class Act UK 2011. The prize for the winner of the highly popular talent hunt show is starring in a movie with established ‘Nollywood’ and international stars.”

We wanted to also know what it was like integrating the different cultural backgrounds and what the challenges were:
Like I always say, acting is a universal language. The actors and crew blended easily (eventually). At first, some of the foreign crew members were hesitant as they were not too sure if we really knew our onions, but by the 3rd day of shoot, they must have realised we knew what we were doing, and we were even doing it better and faster than they were used to, it became very easy and work progressed fluidly. The cast was made up mainly from the members of Class Act, and although most of them had never acted in front of a camera before, they soon got used to it, and gave very convincing and memorable performances.

Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, John Dumelo, Marie Kumba Gomez, Oliver Jolliffe, Penelope Bouchot Humbert, and Demetri Turin starred in this movie along with brilliant performances from some new faces. This is a must watch!
This best bit?!!!! We have two free tickets to offer our readers to attend the premiere of WHEN THE PAST CAME CALLING at the Greenwich Odeon Cinema, by the O2 arena on the 17th of February 2012. Red carpet starts at 9pm. It is a chance to be part of all the glamour and glitz. All you have to do is answer these questions correctly:
1. What year did class act UK started?
2. How many brothers does Ruke Amata have?

The first 2 people to answer the two questions correctly by midnight Monday 13/02/2012 get a ticket each. This competition is closed to friends and family...sorry.
